Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Friday wrote a letter to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. In the letter, Palaniswami stated that there 559 members of the Nizamuddin Tablighi Jamaat Markaz from Tamil Nadu currently quarantined in Delhi.

“I would like to bring to your kind notice that there are 559 Tablighis from Tamil Nadu, who had attended Tabligh Jamaat in New Delhi,” wrote the Tamil Nadu CM. Edapaddi K Palaniswami further listed the names of hospitals and quarantine centres in Delhi where each of these natives from Tamil Nadu are being kept.

The letter goes on to say, “The individuals have been complaining that some of them are diabetic and suffering from other co-morbidities. They are also not provided timely meals in the quarantine facilities.”

Palaniswami requested Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal to instruct authorities to provide the best possible care for the quarantined/hospitalised individuals in addition to providing necessary medical assistance to individuals suffering from co-morbid conditions. “As the Ramadan month is due to start, authorities may be asked to provide food and medicine to them at appropriate times,” were the concluding words in the Tamil Nadu CM’s letter.
