Rishi Kapoor’s advice to Pooja Bhatt: To hell with men

A day after Rishi Kapoor left us, Pooja Bhatt has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late actor on social media. Pooja worked with Rishi in the 1995-film Hum Dono.

Retweeting an old picture with Rishi, Pooja penned a few lines for her former co-star. In her tweet, Pooja also mentioned a piece of advice Rishi had for her that helped her both personally and professionally.

“I didn’t know then that there would be no more retakes of the moment.Shall savour the conversation I had with him on everything from my decision to stop drinking, Sadak2 & even my ‘lack’ of love life. “You need to lead Pooja, not be led” He advised. “Work more. To hell with men (sic),” the 48-year-old actress wrote.

Pooja Bhatt had first this selfie with Rishi Kapoor in 2018 when they both met each other on a flight from Chandigarh. Back then, the actress recalled working with Rishi in the 1995 film and then years later having a “free-wheeling conversation” with him.

“Hum Dono! Rishi Kapoor-A man & co-star who demystified acting for me when I worked with him back in 1995!Invaluable lessons I carried forward for life! What a joy to have a free-wheeling conversation with him on the flight back from Chandigarh yrs later (sic),” read her older caption.

Before Pooja, Alia Bhatt, Soni Razdan and Emraan Hashmi also paid their tributes to Rishi Kapoor on social media.

“Have worked with most of the talented Bhatt family(and relatives). Mahesh Bhatt, Mukesh Bhatt, Robin Bhatt, Purnima ji, Soni Bhatt, Pooja Bhatt, Emran Hashmi, Alia Bhatt. Thank you all (sic)!” his tweet from 2018 reads.

Alia, who worked with Rishi in Student Of The Year and Kapoor and Sons, had reacted to his post.

And Emraan, who shared screen space with Rishi in The Body last year, replied to his tweet saying, “Full on inspiration working with you sir (sic).”

Rishi Kapoor died on April 30, 2020, after a two-year battle against leukemia. His demise came as a shock to the whole country including celebrities and fans.

While only a few close ones could attend Rishi’s funeral due to lockdown, many from the film fraternity expressed their sadness of not being able to visit the Kapoor family in these tough times.
