Over 3,700 new coronavirus cases and 134 deaths take India’s count to over 78,000

The total coronavirus cases in India has now crossed the 78,000-mark with over 3,700 new cases. 134 coronavirus deaths have been reported in 24 hours across the country.

India has reported 3,722 new coronavirus cases and 134 deaths in the past 24 hours. According to the Union Health Ministry, the total number of coronavirus cases in India has now crossed the 78,000-mark.

The coronavirus death toll in India has crossed the 2,500-mark and with the 137 deaths reported, the toll has gone up to 2,549.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has said, “Total positive cases in the country is now at 78,003, including 49,219 active cases. 26,235 people have been cured or discharged.”

Maharashtra, which has the highest number of coronavirus cases in the country, has reported over 25,000 cases so far. The total number of confirmed cases in Maharashtra now stand at 25,922.

The state has cured 5,547 coronavirus patients so far while 975 people have died due to the coronavirus infection.

Gujarat and Tamil Nadu are the most-affected states after Maharashtra with over 9,000 coronavirus cases in both states. While Gujarat has reported 9,267 confirmed coronavirus cases, Tamil Nadu has reported 9,227 cases.

National Capital Delhi has reported 7,998 confirmed coronavirus cases with 106 recoveries and over 2,800 recoveries.
