With the number of coronavirus cases is on a rise, no relaxation has been given to residents of Noida and Ghaziabad from the ongoing lockdown. The total number of novel coronavirus patients in Noida reached 100, highest in the state, with three new cases detected on Monday.
The police launched intensive checking at arterial roads and bordering areas.
Vehicles only with valid passes were allowed on the road. Many challans were issued and FIRs were filed against those found flouting rules of lockdown.
In a statement, district magistrate Suhas LY said, “Total 100 patients of coronavirus have been found in the city out of which 43 have been cured successfully. The three new cases were detected after tests were conducted on over 90 people.”
On Monday, one positive case was found in Cherry County highrise apartments of Greater Noida West, who is a 33-year-old pregnant woman. Another case was detected in Sector 55 area of Noida, where a 61-year-old woman was found Covid positive and the third case was found in Sector 8 of Noida where a 52-year-old woman was found positive.
Greater Noida’s Jewar MLA Thakur Dhirendra Singh said all the support from Lucknow is being provided to the satellite cities to fight Covid pandemic.
“We are in constant touch with health minister Jai Prakash Singh. He is being updated about the situations in Noida and nearby areas every day. We are fully prepared to fight this pandemic. The residents are requested to follow the guidelines of the lockdown so that the pandemic can be controlled soon,” he said.
