A 64-year-old woman and her daughter have tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday in Manipur, pushing the state’s tally to nine.
The woman and her 23-year-old daughter had returned to Manipur from Delhi on May 16.
The woman and her daughter went to Delhi in February for an eye surgery and were staying in a rented accommodation at Kotla Mubarakpur area.
They came back to Manipur from Delhi in a bus along with 18 others on May 16.
Manipur Health Department Additional Director and Spokesperson Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang said that the duo was tested at Viral Research & Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL), Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Imphal and was found positive for Covid-19.
The Manipur health department spokesperson also said that they are now admitted to the Covid care facility at RIMS.
With the new cases, Manipur’s coronavirus count has now increased to nine, including two patients who have been discharged and recovery. The state now has seven active positive cases of Covid-19.
