Gurugram administration seals multiple buildings after detection of 13 new coronavirus cases

Gurugram administration has detected at least 13 novel coronavirus positive cases on second consecutive day. The situation is said to be alarming with 65 cases that were reported a week ago and now the tally has zoomed up to 117.

“5 cases reported in one family resides in Jyoti park area in the old city. Besides, the district administration has also sealed an upscale condominium called Vipul Belmonte complex at sector 53 on Golf Course Road after two senior citizens found positive of Covid-19. 2 other infected persons belong to Rajiv Nagar, two from Acharyapuri near sector 12, and one each from Rajendra Park and civil hospital,” said JS Punia, civil surgeon of Gurugram.

In Vipul Belmonte complex, a couple has been found infected. The husband had recently visited Azadpur vegetable and fruit wholesale market in Delhi. They underwent Covid-19 test recently after the wife was suffering from high-grade fever and bronchitis.

Manish Shandilya, the convener of 80 RWA residential complexes in Gurugram said, “The medical team is currently enquiring with residents to find out who they met in recent days. The officials are suspecting residents of neighbouring flats on the same floor may get infected after possible contact with them,” Shandilya said. The residential complex has over 650 families and they are asked to stay under home quarantine till further order,” Shandilya said.
