Divyanka, Sidharth Shukla, Parth Samthaan and others unite for Ekta Kapoor’s short film on Covid-19


Producers and television actors have joined hands for a short film, which spreads awareness on the need to stay at home to contain the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. The initiative was spearheaded by TV czarina Ekta Kapoor and includes other TV producers Binaifer Kohli, Gul Khan, Fazila Allana, Abhishek Rege, JD Majethia and Anil Wanvari.

Directed by Guroudev Bhalla, the five-minute video features actors Anita Hassanandani, Aasif Sheikh, Aura Bhatnagar, Divyanka Tripathi, Erica Fernandes, Karan V Grover, Karan Jotwani, Karishma Tanna, Manish Paul, Mouni Roy, Parth Samthaan, Reem Shaikh, Rohitashv Gour, Sehban Azim, Shabbir Ahluwalia, Shailesh Lodha, Shehnaaz Gill, Siddharth Shukla, Srithi Jha; Surbhi Jyoti and Vikram Singh Chauhan.

It’s a fun video, that tries to give an important message while sharing glimpses of your favourite TV stars. The main aim of this short film is to unite people in the government’s endeavour to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

The video begins with Yeh Hai Mohabbatein actress Divyanka Tripathi entering a room, where she is greeted by Erica Fernandes, followed by Aditi Sharma, Surbhi Jyoti, Karan Jotwani and Shabir Ahluwalia. In the video, Parth Samthaan takes a dig at the situation and says, “Maine toh kabhi nahi socha that Kasautii Zindagii chhor kar Bigg Boss mein aa ke rahunga.” (I had never thought I would leave Kasautii Zindagii Kay and stay in Bigg Boss house.)

Naagin stars Karishma Tanna and Anita Hassanandani are worried about not getting their regular beauty treatments. They say if they don’t visit the parlour for another month, they will look like real naagins. When Sidharth Shukla expresses his concern of getting out of the Bigg Boss house and again being locked in his home, Vikram Singh Chauhan pulls his legs and says, “Sidarth bhai, aapke liye Bigg Boss kaun si saza thi, aapka toh chakkar chal raha tha andar. Aapne full enjoy kiya hai wahaan pe.”

Soon, Remo D’souza joins the conversation and informs them that they will have to get used to doing the daily chores like cooking, cleaning and doing the dishes. At first, everyone is seen playing passing the parcel with the broom but soon they get on with the daily chores.

Ekta Kapoor said that the video is an attempt to keep people at home. She said, “The video is a collective effort by the television producers association of our country. The current scenario calls for us to be unified, now more than ever. And the common language is that of entertainment. We got all our top tv stars to partake in it so that it connects with people across. We are in this together and this is our endeavour to encourage people to stay home.”

Producer JD Majethia said, “Though TV industry is widely spread everyone connected from artist, technicians, workers to producers are always a phone call away, especially for their Fans. One message from Ekta Kapoor on producers group and here we have a Multi starring entertaining Quarantined film by the TV fraternity. Fans will enjoy this and get to understand the kind of time and efforts gone in making this film without any artists being under the same roof.”
