Though Covid-19 pandemic has brought the entire world to a standstill, filmmakers out there are coming up with scripts inspired by the present situation.
Kannada filmmaker Guru Prasad of Matta and Eddelu Manjunatha fame is all set to direct a film titled Lockdown. Touted to be a crime thriller, major part of the film will be shot in an apartment with minimal cast and crew. The shoot of the film is likely to begin in May after the lockdown is lifted.
We hear that Guru Prasad will double up as an actor for this film. The director-actor apparently wrote the script while in the quarantine period. It is said that he is planning to release the film through online streaming platform.
An official announcement will be made soon once the cast and crew are finalised.
Guru Prasad’s previous directorial venture Eradane Sala (2017), garnered decent response from the audience. The film featured Dhananjay and Sangeetha Bhat in the lead roles. He also acted in a film titled Kushka, directed by Vikram Yoganand.
Guru Prasad was also a part of the Kannada remake of hit Tamil film, Jigarthanda.
