Amid Coronavirus outbreak, life has come to a halt and many have been affected badly. People are also facing problems even as the price of chicken has come to that of onion.

The usual cost of chicken is much above Rs 100, however, the price now at the Ghazipur mandi is said to be around Rs 75 to Rs 100. Due to the Coronavirus outbreak and lockdown, the market price of chicken has fallen to Rs 35 to Rs 40 per kg. This is the market price at Ghazipur mandi, which is the largest meat market in Asia.

Maqsood, a chicken seller at the mandi, says, “The poultry farmer, the seller and the supplier are facing the biggest challenge. Only 30 to 40 vehicles arrive now, and we take at least 2-3 days to sell it.”
