Choked first look: Saiyami Kher struggles with money in Anurag Kashyap film

Netflix on Tuesday revealed the first look of Saiyami Kher’s new film Choked. Directed by Anurag Kashyap, the film also stars Roshan Matthew in the lead role.

Sharing the first look, Netflix wrote, “What money gives, it can also take. Choked directed by @anuragkashyap72, starring @SaiyamiKher and Roshan Matthew! (sic).”

Saiyami Kher also took to social media to share the picture. Along with the photo, she wrote, “Only @anuragkashyap10 could have imagined me like this and backed me up! It was an absolute pleasure starring opp the fabulous @roshan.matthew. Complexities of a middle class family beautifully written by @misterbistar. A film VERY close to my heart. Need all your support, love & blessings for the film! (sic).”

Choked is about a woman Sarita (Saiyami Kher), who is a banker. She is struggling to run the household with her limited income as she lets her husband Sushant (Roshan Matthew) pursue his dream of becoming a musician.

Anurag Kashyap and Netflix have collaborated for four projects till now. Before Choked, the filmmaker directed a segment each in anthology films Lust Stories and Ghost Stories, along with three other directors – Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee and Karan Johar. He also directed many episodes of the web series Sacred Games.

Choked is releasing on Netflix on June 5.
